Many users do not know which indicator icons are added to the National VI and National V models. According to the function of the indicator lights, they can be divided into light type indicator lights, oil type indicator lights, operation type indicator lights, and fault alarm type indicator lights. Today, let's take the dashboard of the Universiade as an example to briefly introduce the indicator light explanation.

At present, the indicator lights related to the combination instrument panel and engine in China VI have been driven by CAN messages (SAEJ1939 standard). The default transmission rate is 250kbps.




1. Water temperature gauge: The Rx instrument receives ECU messages, and the alarm light is controlled by the instrument:




Yuchai engine water temperature alarm 108 ℃, engine torque limit 108 ℃;




Weichai engine water temperature alarm 108 ℃, engine torque limit 110 ℃;




The engine water temperature alarm inside the cloud is 105 ℃, and the engine torque limit is 105 ℃.




Water temperature gauge display interface and control logic:




Refine the display of the instrument water temperature scale, increase the white area, and decrease the red area. 1) Matching Yuchai and Weichai engines: When the water temperature is ≤ 95 ℃, display according to the actual temperature; When the water temperature is between 95 ℃ and 107 ℃, it is displayed at a fixed position of 98 ℃; When the water temperature is ≥ 108 ℃, the pointer moves uniformly to indicate the red area and lights up the high water temperature alarm indicator light, displaying the actual temperature value.




2) Matching the engine inside the cloud: The water temperature is displayed according to the actual temperature value.




2. Tachometer: Rx instrument receives ECU messages




3. Urea level gauge: The urea level sensor inputs to the engine ECU, and the ECU outputs a message to the combination instrument. After the instrument is powered on, the actual percentage of urea level is displayed. When the urea level is below 13%, the urea level alarm light will light up, and when it is above 18%, the urea level alarm light will go out.




4. Oil pressure gauge: Our company's instrument displays relative oil pressure. When the instrument is powered on and the vehicle is not started, the oil pressure gauge does not display, and the low oil pressure alarm light remains on; After starting the vehicle normally, the oil pressure gauge displays the actual pressure value (range 0~0.1Mpa), and the low oil pressure warning light goes out. The oil pressure value increases with the increase of throttle opening.




If all four tables above are not displayed, it is a CAN communication fault. If one of them is not displayed, it is not related to the wiring harness. It is necessary to collect message information, analyze whether the instrument panel has received messages, and whether the engine ECU has sent messages. At present, the second situation has not been encountered (the CAN communication matrix between the instrument and the engine has been solidified, see the summary of instrument CAN messages and the engine electronic control protocol).




5. Engine fault light:

Chang Liang: The engine has a general malfunction and it is recommended to repair it.




Flashing: The engine is severely malfunctioning and needs to be repaired as soon as possible.

Constant light: indicates a malfunction in the emission Nox system, and maintenance is recommended,




Repair, otherwise torque and speed limits may occur.

8. DPF regeneration indicator light:

The yellow light is used for the Yuchai engine, and the red light is used for the Weichai and Yunnei engines.




Yellow light: Yuchai: Always on, indicating that the vehicle needs DPF regeneration. Please increase the engine speed appropriately to allow DPF to undergo driving regeneration, or complete DPF parking regeneration as soon as possible; Flashing indicates that the vehicle's DPF requires service regeneration.




Weichai/Yunnei: Always on, indicating that the vehicle is undergoing driving regeneration, and an increase in engine speed is considered normal; Flashing indicates that the vehicle's DPF needs to undergo parking regeneration as soon as possible.




Red light: constantly on, indicating that the DPF needs service regeneration and needs to be immediately driven to a nearby engine service station for service regeneration (only applicable to Weichai/Yunnei Power).




9. DPF regeneration inhibit indicator light:

Always on, indicating that the DPF regeneration inhibit switch has been pressed and regeneration is in progress. Pressing this switch again will release it.

Summary: Country 6 has more DPF regeneration indicator lights than Country 5. Many people don't know and think it's a fault light. After reading the above introduction, they understand. Furthermore, special vehicle models such as refrigerated trucks and sprinkler trucks in China VI must use diesel (GB19147), gasoline, engine oil (CK-4), and regular vehicle urea solution (GB29518) that meets China VI emission standards to avoid premature blockage or damage to the aftertreatment system, resulting in greater losses!
